Dudley Pontifex (1890-1917)


Dudley Pontifex, child of Mr S E Pontifex was born in 1890.  Lived at Old Vicarage Parkstone, in Poole.   Fought in WW1 as a Captain in the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) 2nd Bn.  Died on Jul 31 1917 at the age of 27 in Belgium.  A memorial for Dudley Pontifex can be found at Panel 22 Yrpres (Menin Gate) in Belgium.  Their name features in the in United Kingdom.
