Harry George James Oates (1891-1916)


Harry George James Oates, child of Mr J and Mrs A Oates was born in 1891.  Lived at 36 Castle Street, in Poole.   Fought in the war (dogtag# 9413) as a Private.  Died on Sep 30 1916 at the age of 25 in Mesopotamia (present day Iraq).  Buried at Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery in Iraq.  Their name features in the St James Church Roll of Honour 1914-1918 in United Kingdom.
